Beginning higher education
Build a foundation in a chosen field and develop the habits of independent study, critical reading and clear expression.

EURISS is a non-profit higher education institution that forms part of the European Higher Education Quality Council (EHEQC).
The European Higher Education Quality Council (EHEQC) is the association behind EURISS. EURISS is the educational name through which the association presents its schools, programmes and learning activities. The association and the Institute therefore describe the organisational and educational sides of the same structure.
Our non-profit orientation places educational purpose at the centre of our work. We aim to develop learning that is thoughtful, relevant and clearly explained, with respect for learners’ time, effort and individual goals.
Education should develop both specialist understanding and a wider view of the world. Our vision is to help learners connect expertise with judgement, professional ambition with social awareness, and personal development with a continuing willingness to learn.
Our mission is to connect academic learning with the questions facing people, organisations and society. We seek to help learners build knowledge, exercise independent judgement and use their abilities responsibly.
Science, business, the humanities and professional practice offer different ways of understanding the world. We encourage learners to connect these perspectives while developing depth in their chosen field.
Learning begins with questions. Our approach values careful reading, reasoned discussion, the evaluation of evidence and honest acknowledgement of sources. Understanding matters more than repeating an answer.
Cases, analytical tasks and projects can help learners connect concepts with practice. We aim to develop the ability to define a problem, consider alternatives and communicate a well-supported response.
We value dialogue across cultures and respect for different experiences. Education should support continued intellectual and professional development, including for learners returning to study after time in work.
Our programmes are intended for people at different stages of their educational and professional journeys. Choosing a pathway begins with your interests, previous learning and future direction; entry requirements are considered for the selected programme.

Extend previous academic learning through focused study, analysis and a more sustained examination of a subject.
Connect professional experience with academic ideas, revisit established assumptions and explore a new direction for development.
Ten schools connect our subject areas, from computing and management to education, media, health and the humanities. Each school provides a distinct academic focus within a shared commitment to thoughtful, responsible learning.
Our schools →Study formats are specified for each intake and programme. The spring 2027 intake is delivered online through distance learning, with subject resources, structured study tasks and academic engagement.
Programmes & admissions →For EURISS, a European perspective means openness to intellectual exchange, different cultural experiences and the relationship between knowledge and society. We encourage learners to examine a subject beyond a single national or professional context and to approach unfamiliar ideas with curiosity and respect.
Start with a subject that interests you. Explore the school, read the programme and curriculum, compare tuition, and use the application guide to prepare your next step. Our admissions team can help with questions about the application process.
